Building Healthy Families Through Chiropractic & Nutrition

Improve your child’s Health, Mood and Behavior

By eliminating and including the following:

First Eliminate

1.                  All artificial sweeteners (Aspartame, Saccharin and now Splenda are widely used in most sugar free or diet products.  However, watch out for these ingredients in common items such as: gum, mints and toothpaste!)  Aspartame, specifically, is a neurotoxin which means it destroys the neurons in the brain and may cause other neurological conditions (www.aspartamekills.com)

2.                    High Fructose Corn Syrup:  an additive placed in MOST common foods, check labeling before you purchase. This additive may cause mood changes, diabetes and high cholesterol. http://www.westonaprice.org/motherlinda/cornsyrup.htm

3.                    Food colorings such as Red and Blue dye found in candy, foods and drinks can mimic symptoms of ADD/ADHD and alter behavior.  (skittles, Life Savors, or anything the “glows in the dark”)

Include the following supplements

1.                    A good multi-vitamin (found in health food stores or from your alternative healthcare professional)

2.                    Vitamin C (Hylands homeopathic Vitamin C and Vit C Cold Plus is great for babies and young children unable to swallow)

3.                  Probiotics: good bacteria for the intestines and digestive system (extremely necessary for children who have been on antibiotics, but beneficial for all children).  This promotes good intestinal health as well as improved immune function.

4.                  Essential Fatty Acids (EPH/DHA) also called Omega fatty acids.  So important for brain and nervous system function.  Children don’t get enough “good fats” in their diet.
